CBBRC dances with One Billion Rising 2017

February 15, 2017

Members of the Crispin B. Beltran Resource Center (CBBRC) joined thousands in dancing for women’s rights and for peace for this year’s One Billion Rising.

The One Billion Rising is a global movement, founded by Eve Ensler, to end rape and sexual violence against women.[1][2][3] It was started in 2012 as part of the V-Day movement.

This year’s campaign in the Philippines also called for peace based on justice through the resumption of the peace talks between the Government of the Philippines and the National Democratic Front of the Philippines.

“We want to achieve genuine and lasting peace, but we believe this peace should be based on justice for it to be genuine and lasting. This can only be achieved by continuing the peace process, not through all-out war,” said Helen Simplina, Executive Director of the CBBRC.”
